Twitch

How do you help increase viewership and sign-ups for the world’s most popular video live streaming service for gamers?

While at Cibo, I led the collaboration between our team and Twitch's marketing and UX team on the web design for their educational portal called Twist Creator Camp.

At their core, Twitch’s mission is to provide the best shared social video experience for their community to interact safely. And this educational portal is a critical part to get Twitch creators and streamers to learn about how to get started, the rules of engagement, and how to build a strong community of streamers and viewers together.

My role was to help our team elevate the experience and design, leveraging Twitch’s existing brand. Leading a set of workshops, we aligned on a vision and set of requirements that ultimately guided our ideation and website design. I led a team of writers and UX/designers who worked very closely with Twitch’s marketing and technology teams. Fun fact, our lead designer was a hardcore gamer and Twitch creator so this was her dream come true.

Th result of our collective efforts was wildly successful. Viewership increased by 30% in the first 3 months, and the Twitch team continues to expand on our design system for their portal and website.

Our portal design system was influenced by some Twitch’s existing UI kit while we also introduced new content components like insights, related blogs, and testimonials to better engage new users.
